Students’ Chapter’s Activities
This Students’ Chapter organizes many activities for initiating and imbibing the feeling of belongingness into fraternity of engineering to which the students of engineering are destined. The Students Chapters provide a learned workshop/Seminar, technical visit for the development of socio-techno intellectual qualities of the members as well as for encouraging their urge and surge for knowledge in a disciplined and guided system.

1. 44th Engineers Day on 15 Sep 2011
2. Lecture on Drug Addiction and De-addiction (Ist Half of Oct 2011)
3. Lecture on Fire and fire fighting appliances (Ist Half of Nov 2011)
 
Activities Carried Out
 
1. Seminar on Building Wire
Er Raj Kumar, International Copper Promotion Council (India), visited this institute on 20May 2011 along with his team. He delivered lecturer on importance of Copper in engineering specially delivering power AC or DC and edge of copper over other mettle . He covered in detail about Building Wire in home as well in commercial building.
 
2. Technical Visit to BTS Site
There was a technical visit on 24 March,2011 to BTS (Base Trans-receiver Station) site at Jayanti Vihar( Kangra) for students of Computer Engg. of 3rd years . Mr Gaurav Choudhary, FM Engineer from Ericcson delivered the lecture on “Wireless Communication” and Mr Praveen Kumar, Site Enginer from Bharti Infratel delivered lecture on “Power system used in BTS” at Jayanti Vihar( Kangra) BTS site along with demonstration.
 
3. Seminar on Broadband & Mobile Communication
Er Deepak Chaturvedi ,Sr GM BSNL Dharamshala visited this institute on 10Feb, 2011 along with his team. Er S C Verma, Principal, Govt. Polytechnic Kangra delivered welcome address. Er Deepak Chaturvedi ,Sr GM BSNL Dharamshala graced the occasion by special address to the students. Er Rajesh Sharma, DET Broadband (BSNL) delivered lecture on “Broadband Architecture” and Er Sanjeev Dewan SDE Mobile (BSNL) delivered lecture on “Mobile Communication”. Er R S Katoch, Adviser, Students’ Chapter proposed the vote of thanks.
 
4. Seminar on PLC
There was a seminar on PLC on 23 Sep, 2010 for students of Electronics & Comm. and Instrumentation Engg. 97 students of 3rd years in respective branch attended the seminar. Ms Meera of Quick Logic Control, Panchkula delivered the seminar. She elaborated the uses of PLC in industry.
 
5. Seminar on AutoCAD
There was a seminar on AutoCAD on 16 Sep, 2010 for Mechanical Branch’s students.   Mr Harbinder Singh of CADD Centre , Hamirpur  gave a detail presentation on Auto CAD and  emphasized on its needs in present scenario.
 
6. Celebration on 43rd Engineers Day (15 Sep, 2010)
Er R S Katoch, Adviser, Kangra Govt. Polytechnic Students Chapter, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the various activities of Students Chapter. Er SC Verma, Principal, Govt. Polytechnic Kangra graced the occasion as Chief Guest and delivered a Special Address to the gathering. There was Declamation Contest on “Non-Conventional Energy Sources” and competition on Portrait of Sir M Visvesvaraya. There was guest lecture on “Global Warming & Climate Change”. Lectures were delivered on the said subject by Er. Bachchan Singh, Block Development Officer, Kangra & Er. Ashok Pathak, H.O.D. Instru. Engg. .
